What's it all about?
2012 marks the 20th year of Food Surveys, and Tom was looking for a great way to celebrate that fact, one which allowed him to get out and see some clients, colleagues and friends while also being able to shout about the company a little in the process. It seemed a natural enough progression that if you add in 1100 miles on a bike and a great cause, there was also the opportunity to raise some money for a great cause. Here are the key facts:
Our Charity: The Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund - website
To Donate: http://www.justgiving.com/tomnewjogle

Things I Have Learned So Far:
- Going over your handlebars while riding down a dirt track hurts. A lot.
- You can lose more blood than you think, and not die.
- Pain is a sensation - you can ignore it for longer than you think.
- Every hill you ride up is a penny saved in the bank
So, the first donations have been coming in to the Just Giving page (www.justgiving.com/tomnewjogle), the route has been plotted, and this event is all of a sudden feeling a bit more real than it has up until now.

Up hills, through mud, into the woods, up some more hills, along the river, through the mud again, and then up some more hills. I honestly didn't know Cornwall got that high.

There is of course, a world of learning between understanding in theory how far you need to go, and how much work it is going to be and then actually demonstrating it to yourself first hand. You can consider me suitably educated.
